Volo Museum – Rock-afire Courtyard

Experience the Rock-afire Explosion at Volo Museum

One of Only Two Public Shows Operating in the U.S.

Step into a living piece of entertainment history—the Rock-afire Explosion, performing exclusively at Volo Museum. This isn’t just an animatronic show; it’s the icon of an era, brought back with concert-level sound and fan-fueled energy that you can feel in the room.

What makes it legendary? Our Rock-afire is one of only two public operating shows in the entire United States, and it features something fans thought they’d never see again: a Volo-exclusive show created by the original creator, Aaron Fechter—his first newly made show in over 30 years—featuring original surviving band members. Meticulously maintained and performed only here, it’s widely considered the holy grail of animatronics.

Rock-afire Explosion typically performs daily from the first Saturday in June through Labor Day, then weekends only in fall and spring as weather allows. The Event Calendar shows the planned schedule, but weather can still delay or cancel performances—even on listed days. Located in the RAE Courtyard next to Munchkin Junction and the Carousel, it’s included with the Platinum Pass, Gold Pass, and Volo Museum ticket.
