Displays That Were Never Meant To Survive
Built for stores, theaters, and promotional spaces, these pieces brought animated worlds into real life.
Many of these large character displays were created for Disney and Warner Bros. stores in the 1990s, where they helped turn shopping spaces into movie-themed experiences. The collection also includes select theater displays from popular animated films and characters.
From Storefront Magic To Rare Collectibles
Most store displays were supposed to be returned and destroyed after their retail use ended.
These figures were not built for public sale. They were made for retail displays, movie promotions, and themed environments, then often returned or destroyed when their use ended. A small number survived when some locations did not send them back, allowing rare pieces to make their way into private collections. Volo Museum has one of the largest collections of these oversized Disney and Warner Bros. displays, featuring popular pre-2000 characters along with select theater pieces from later animated favorites.
