Looking for a fun family outing in an environment that’s a little calmer and more comfortable? Join us for Sensory Sunday at Jurassic Gardens at Volo Museum, where the dinosaurs are just as incredible—but the experience is thoughtfully adjusted to be more sensory-friendly.

Every 3rd Sunday of the month, Jurassic Gardens opens its gates for a special two-hour sensory-friendly experience designed to help guests of all ages enjoy the magic of dinosaurs in a quieter, more relaxed setting. During these dedicated hours, we reduce many of the exhibit’s sensory elements, including loud sounds, sudden movements, flashing effects, and other overstimulating features. The result is a welcoming atmosphere where visitors can explore at their own pace and focus on the incredible prehistoric world around them.

We believe that everyone deserves the chance to experience the excitement of coming face-to-face with towering dinosaurs, regardless of their sensory needs. Whether you’re visiting with a child on the autism spectrum, someone with sensory sensitivities, a family member who prefers quieter environments, or you simply enjoy a more peaceful museum experience, Sensory Sunday offers a comfortable way to discover Jurassic Gardens together.

Imagine walking among life-sized dinosaurs without the distractions of loud roaring, intense effects, or overwhelming crowds. We’re also thrilled to welcome our friends from Rockin’ the Spectrum, who will be joining us on-site throughout the event. Their sensory tent will feature engaging hands-on activities designed to encourage exploration, creativity, and fun while providing valuable resources and support for families. Their team is passionate about creating inclusive experiences, and we’re excited to partner with them to make Sensory Sunday even more meaningful for our guests.
